Owner and designer Jo Reynolds is an absolute pro at dressing women effortless and chic at the same time. Local brand Blush Fashion has created a wardrobe which makes women look universally beautiful every day while feeling comfortable in their own skin.
Taking the leap to start her own local fashion business has always been Jo’s dream as it allows her to be creative and make feminine design concepts come to life. “It’s a very rewarding experience where nothing is impossible.”, says the Durban born entrepreneur who started her ‘Blush’ journey only a year ago. Jo is a proudly South African who is in love with the country’s unique aura and vibrant people, inspired by its mix of different cultures.
Her beautiful range is currently available at different local markets in Durban as well as a selection of retail stores. Jo is your go-to person when it comes to fashion advice as she offers personal shopping experiences for women who lead a busy lifestyle or are struggling to put outfits together. Shop her range this Summer in Localism’s online shop and don’t miss out on some Blush insights through our weekly Q&A…
What’s trending this Summer?
Florals and embroidery are very big for this Summer. Sleeves are also very important this season – lots of bell sleeves in various lengths. Cold shoulder/off-shoulder details and the cami silhouette are still going strong. Summer is always fun!
What’s your favourite casual evening outfit?
At the moment its one of my own tops from BLUSH – a feminine cold shoulder top. Paired with black skinny jeans. Add some gold accessories – and a dainty necklace I got from my bestie for a personal touch. And you’re good to go! Elegant with a slight edge.
Favourite quote to live by and why?
‘If not me then who?’ Besides my passion for fashion, I also have a big love of animals.
This quote is about standing up for animal rights….
Where is your favourite local spot to hang out?
If I go out – its normally to S43 on Station Drive. There’s just such an interesting mix of people that go there.
What other local brands do you follow?
J-nita Clothing, Wae West, Rooi Rok Bokkie and Guillotine by Lisa Jaffe.
What makes local ‘lekker’?
Supporting and uplifting each other!
